Field Applications Scientist

The Field Applications Scientist (FAS) will be an integral member of a small customer-facing, field-deployed team within Daylight Solutions’ Sales and Marketing group of the Scientific Instrumentation Line of Business and will report directly to the Product Line Manager (PLM). In an effort to grow the business and seed new markets, the primary duties of the FAS will be to support key customer accounts by leading the application demonstration and development process. The process typically begins with defining and negotiating a scope-of-work, followed by detailed planning and execution of experiments at a remote site, and culminating with the reporting and presenting of results. Accordingly, the FAS will often embed themselves within academic or industrial labs for multiple days at a time with the goal of becoming an extension of the customer team. It is therefore expected that the FAS will periodically author or co-author high-visibility scientific articles and application notes.
