Overview

•Buyer will support QCL and MRO  



Responsibilities

Procurement of maintenance, repair, operating and capital goods and services to support our Defense, Instrumentation and Life sciences product lines.• Validate purchase requisitions, identify discrepancies and resolve with PR originators.• Procurement of Prototype parts.• Responsible for the procurement of the Quantum Cascade Laser(QCL) commodity.• Chair weekly QCL Pipeline meeting.• Create outside process work orders for QCL Bonding and coating runs.• Coordinate QCL shipments for outside process bonding and coating. • Communicate with inspection lab when QCL’s arrived for post bonding inspection or need to be prepared for coating.• Accurately save QCL specifications in Qdb Database. • Develop Kanban system with VMI Suppliers and establish Min/Max levels.• Review quotations and proposals. conduct intermediate procurement negotiations.• Follow up, expedite and negotiate purchase order changes relative to delivery and supplier performance.• Work closely with accounts payable and receiving department to review and resolve discrepancies.• Maintains Purchasing records and related documentation accordingly.• Maintains professional relationship with internal customers and suppliers.• Other duties and projects as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.• 2+ years’ experience in purchasing and planning functions.• Good understanding of ERP systems.• Knowledge of purchasing and production planning principles.• Proficiency in MS Office.• Demonstrate an ability to work independently and make objective decisions.• Good negotiation and communication skills.• Detailed, analytical, and result oriented.• Must be customer focused and possess the ability to provide solutions to a range of complex purchasing problems
