Desktop Support Specialist

 

 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor ticket queue and respond to assigned IT helpdesk tickets
  • Answer support calls, respond to emails and address employee walk-up questions
  • Setup and deploy computers, transfer settings & data between computers, setup & configure printers and network devices
  • Troubleshoot and fix software and hardware issues on desktop systems, phones, printers, and network devices
  • Maintain printer consumables and general IT supplies
  • Inventory IT assets and maintain accurate asset information
  • Manage software licensing renewals

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • PC operating systems and hardware
  • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Computer peripherals such as printers, scanners, and other removable devices
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP Properties)

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Windows Server Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Mobile Device Management (iPhone, or Android)
  • VMware ESXi
  • Linux/Unix

KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exude confidence when dealing with C-level executives
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Multitask and resolve technical issues in a timely fashion
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent certification path
